Plus Rider Scholarships
Our Junior Program Sponsor - Plus Finance + Investments – is offering four “Rider Assistance Scholarships” of $400 each, for 4 young riders in 2026. The Scholarships are aimed at those who need a hand to train and compete on a regular basis, by putting $400 towards program and track fees at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome.
Applications close Sunday 8th August and successful applicants will be advised by Sunday 15th August.
Who can apply:
Any junior track riders in years 5-13 who need additional support to ride in our track program.

Hear from 2025 rider Pippa:
"My daughter Pippa was very grateful to have received a rider assistance scholarship for the Grassroots Velodrome last year.
We wanted to say a huge thank you for this. She used the scholarship to pay for her junior programme coaching and to hire a hook to hang her bike for the year.
She has had a great year and is still loving her track cycling and doing well.
She has just competed at the North Island Schools Track Champs last week. She won every race on the track (5 individual and 4 team) to take the under 13 girls Omnium title as well as the y7/8 girls team sprint and team pursuit. She also broke the Under 13 girls NZ record for the standing 250m which was a great accomplishment.
Pippa also competed in the North Island Schools Road Cycling at Karapiro last weekend. She finished 5th in the road race (after being sick during the race) and won the u13 girls criterium.
So some great results- and she is having a heap of fun doing it.
