Plus Mortgage Trust Friday Night Racing was back at the Velodrome and it didn’t disappoint.
We had over 40 riders take to the track, bringing some great racing and even better energy throughout the night. The Keirin format added something a little different, with Flying 200 qualifying setting the tone early and giving riders the chance to test their speed before heading into some tight, tactical racing.
Off the track, the vibes were just as good. Rusty Quartz Food Truck kept everyone well fed with some seriously good burgers, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the racing.
We also had a few special appearances from our Velodrome reception team, with Jesse, Kyle and Jack stepping up to take on the racing. Always good to see a bit of friendly competition off the desk and onto the track.
Well done to our winners of the Keirin finals - Pippa Brown, Thomas Grady, Casper Leung, Logan Dickson, Nick Smith & Ieuan Edwards.
A big thank you to our supporters, volunteers and coaches who help make nights like this happen - as well as to our awesome commentator, Jeremy Suisted.
We’ll be releasing Term 2 Friday Night Racing dates very soon. If you’d like to stay in the loop, you can sign up to our email list here.
If you love the idea of Junior Racing and want to learn more about track cycling, check out our Battle of the Schools event coming up in Term 2!
