Plus Finance + Investments Battle of the Schools is a high energy track cycling series that brings secondary and higher primary school students together at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome for fast racing, team spirit, and plenty of noise from the sidelines. Riders race for their school across a range of events and categories, earning points and building momentum as the competition unfolds.

Designed for both new and experienced riders in school years 5-13, Battle of the Schools is about getting students on the track, having a go, and representing their school in a supportive but competitive environment.

In the lead up to race day, riders are taking part in a six-week training programme with qualified coaches helping along the way. No previous experience is necessary, and all riding equipment is supplied. On race day, everyone will come together for an exciting event, with face painting, food trucks, a kids’ room and more.

The six-week training programme commenced on Sunday 10 May 2026.

Battle of the Schools Event Day will be held on Sunday 21 June.
