COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

Please note: These FAQs are subject to change as more information about the Covid-19 Protection Framework becomes available and processes relating the implementation of Covid-19 Vaccination Certificates are confirmed, and as direction from the NZ Government and Ministry of Health evolves.

Why have you made it mandatory to be fully vaccinated?

Advice from medical experts and New Zealand’s Ministry of Health is that being fully vaccinated is the best defence in the ongoing fight against Covid-19.

Requesting proof of your Vaccination Pass under the NZ Government’s new Covid-19 Protection Framework also means we can continue to operate throughout all levels (with some restrictions as required), instead of potentially needing to close down under orange or red levels. Therefore, we believe that operating with Covid-19 vaccination requirements is the most effective way for us to mitigate the health and safety risk, and the disruption to business continuity. Everyone over the age of 12 and 3 months will be asked to show their pass.

How will vaccination certificates be checked before we enter the venue?

Upon arrival you will be required to show your Vaccination Pass (digital or hard copy) to our Front of House staff where they will scan it using the NZ Pass Verifier App. This will be done using company smartphones.

Will the double vaccination card be accepted as well as the COVID-19 Vaccine Pass QR Code or printed vaccination confirmation?

No, only Covid-19 Vaccination Pass (either digital or hard copy) will be accepted.

Will visitors, track and or gym users be denied entry if they don’t have their phone on them or their battery has gone flat?

It will be a requirement to show an official Covid-19 Vaccination Pass (either digital or hard copy) before people enter the venue, so it is important visitors ensure they fully charge their phone and bring it with them, or alternatively bring along a printed copy of their Covid Vaccination Pass.

Does the Grassroots Trust Velodrome have access to people’s vaccination information?

No, personal information will not be retained by the Grassroots Trust Velodrome.

Will people with medical exemptions still be able to enter the Grassroots Trust Velodrome?

Yes. The Government has stated those with exemptions will also be issued a Vaccination Pass which we will be able to scan with the NZ Pass Verifier App.

If I am hosting an event or function at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome do all my staff, volunteers and other event / function participants need to be vaccinated even if they are only on-site for a short period of time?

Yes, everyone who enters the Grassroots Trust Velodrome will need to be fully vaccinated and hold a valid Covid-19 Vaccination Pass regardless of how long they are on site.

Will all contractors need to be vaccinated?

Yes, everyone who enters the Grassroots Trust Velodrome needs to be fully vaccinated and hold a valid Covid-19 Vaccination Pass.

Who will be responsible for checking the vaccination passes of contractors, visitors, track/gym users, event attendees etc?

Upon arrival you will be required to show your Vaccination Pass (digital or hard copy) to our Front of House staff where they will scan it using the NZ Pass Verifier App. This will be done using company smartphones.

Will I still need to wear a mask at your venues?

Under the Covid-19 Protection Framework’s red and orange levels you will still be required to wear masks while at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome as an added layer of defence against Covid-19. Masks are also encouraged to be worn at green level.
